Ted Johnson
TUPELO - Teddy Hoyte "Ted" Johnson, 70, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at the North Miss. Medical Center. He was born Aug. 5, 1935, in Itawamba County to the late Flavis and Ruby Hall Johnson. He was retired with more than 25 years at the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal where he managed the classified ads. He had also served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Tupelo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W .E. Pegues with Dr. Gayle Alexander officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 46, years, Gladys Farris Johnson of Tupelo; three children, Vanessa Davis and her husband, John, of St. Louis, Mo., William Alvin Johnson of Tupelo and Anthony Johnson and his wife, Suzy, of Franklin, Tenn.; one sister, Janice Wood and her husband, Bobby, of Golden; two brothers, Douglas Johnson of Golden and Carlton Johnson and his wife, Eva, of Red Bay, Ala.; four grandchildren, Eric and Nick Johnson of Franklin, Tenn., and Sean and Scott David of St. Louis.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
