GENEVIE GUNTHARP
Tupelo - GENEVIE TAYLOR GUNTHARP, 87, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, she was born March 3, 1920 to the late Swep and Florence Ballard Taylor. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was a talanted seamstress, designing and sewing wedding gowns, wedding attendant dresses, cheerleader costumes, pageant dresses, suits, dresses and alterations for more than 40 years.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Boguefala Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Cox and Bro. Delbert Turner officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Christine Nanney of Tupelo and Lorene Carr of Sevierville, Tenn..
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Guntharp; three sisters, Clara Howell, Fess Hussey and Gladys Cantrell; four brothers, Pete, Tank, Joe, and Swep "Bud" Taylor.
Pallbearers will be Steve Nanney, Randy Taylor, Joe Price Young, Mike Bass, Charles Elliff, George Lyons, David Bruce and Joe Hillhouse.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
