Tammy Jean Bishop-Thompson, 58, gained her angel wings Saturday, June 29, 2019, at her residence in Mooreville after an extended illness. She was born in the Eggville Community, March 9, 1961, to Mannie Lamar and Donnas Faye Martin Bishop. She was a graduate of Mooreville High School and attended Itawamba Community College. As a teenager, she worked at Kermit's Bakery with her father and sister, Pam and went on to work for General Packing Specialty for over 20 years later in life. Tammy enjoyed spending time with her family, sitting on the porch watching the squirrels with her precious dog, "Toto" and watching "her Westerns" on television. During her teenage years, she was a member of Eggville Baptist Church and had most recently attended West Mooreville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Georgette Roach and her husband, Michael of Shannon; four grandsons, Jesse Roach, Zack Roach, Luke Roach and Wydalion Wheatherspoon all of Shannon; mother, Donnas Bishop of Mooreville; two sisters, Pam Banik and her husband, Joe and Michelle "Mimi" Patton and her husband, Mark all of Mooreville; brother, Steve "Bubber" Bishop of Mooreville; and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her father, M.L. "Pee-Wee" Bishop; grandparents, Archie and O' Wita Bishop and Jim and Hattie Martin; uncle, Paul Martin; and in-laws, Georgia Whiteside and James Kenneth Whiteside, Sr.; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019 at W.E. Pegues.
Services honoring her life will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, 2019, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Bro. Robert Winters officiating and poem reading and prayer by Wydalion Wheatherspoon. Graveside services will follow in Andrews Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steve Bishop, Steven Griggs, Chris Banik, Dale Beaty, Michael Orzborn, and James Arthur Sheffield.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lane, Lonnie, Joey, Dusty, Luke, Jesse, Zack, Wydalion, Terry Bedford, many childhood friends, SHS Band and the Special Education department and very special uncle, Doyle Martin.
