Syvera McCullough

SYVERA A. MCCULLOUGH Corinth - Syvera A. McCullough, 93, died Tuesday, March 17, 2015, after an extended illness. Syvera was born in Verona, MS the daughter of the late Charles Lee McCullough and Sadie Wilson McCullough. She graduated High School in Shannon, MS. After attending Business School, she worked for Columbus Air Base in Columbus, MS, and Internal Revenue Service in Tupelo, MS. She lived in Memphis 54 and worked for the VA Medical Center for 33 years. She was the Labor Management Relations Officer when she retired. While in Memphis she attended the University of Tennessee night school for three and half years. She moved to Corinth in 1997. Syvera was a member of the Waldron Street Christian Church in Corinth and was a member of the Neuropathy Association, New York. She loved to fish, was an avid golfer, and a great story teller with a hint of the Irish. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Tupelo Memorial Park with Rev. J. E. Morris officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include three nephews, Joseph T. Wilkins III (Anne) of Jackson, MS, Jerry McCullough (Pat) of Boston, MA, Ron McCullough (Anne) of Sebastian, FL; three nieces, Carolyn Bowen of Tupelo, MS, Alice Stanley (Kenneth) of Saltillo, MS, Bobbie H. McFarling of Huntsville, AL. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille McFarling of Huntsville, Al, Mrs. Alice Stevens of Tupelo, MS, Mrs. Irma Wilkins of New Albany, MS; one brother, Merle McCullough; one nephew, Bryce McFarling of Huntsville, AL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's hospital, P.O Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
