Sybil Hester Erwin
Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of Tupelo - Sybil Hester Erwin, 93, died Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at Plantation Manor in McCalla, Alabama. She was born in Lee County May 23, 1924, to Leeman Lester and Madie Lee Hester. She was a graduate of Saltillo High School. For many years, she worked as a seamstress at Joyner Fields Manufacturing Company until her retirement. Sybil was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Survivors include one niece, Rhonda Aust and her husband, Randy of Hoover, Alabama; one great-niece, Catherine Aust; two great-nephews, Daniel and Thomas Aust; dear family friends, Michael McDaniel and his wife, Robin and their four children; and a host of nieces and nephews on her late husband's side of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, D.W. Erwin; her daughter, Brenda K. Erwin; and one sister, Betty Cook.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2018, at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring her life will be 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E Pegues with Rev. Terry Faulkner officiating. A eulogy will be read by Michael McDaniel. Graveside services will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Thomas Aust, Randy Aust, Ryan McDaniel, Michael McDaniel, Nelson Addison and John Rice.
