SYBIL BAILEY Tupelo - Sybil Bailey, 92, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks in Verona. She was born November 21, 1921 to Arthur and Etta Mullennix Bailey. Sybil was a graceful, southern lady who was a true saint and very dedicated to her church. She was very special and was loved greatly by her family and friends. A gentle lady who was kind, humble, and sympathetic toward anyone she met. Sybil lived a godly life and set good examples and guides for her family and friends. She led others down a spiritual path of greatness. Anyone who ever had the opportunity to meet Sybil, fell in love with her and she will be truly missed. She retired from South Central Bell after serving for the company for more than 45 years. She was a long-time member of Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Terry Pierce officiating. A graveside service will follow at Priceville Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors of Tupelo is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include one nephew, Thomas King and wife, Cathy, of Natchitoches, LA; two great-nieces, Nicole Britt and husband, Shawn and family, of Benton, La., Natalie Dziczkowski, and husband, Tony and family, of San Antonio, Tex.; cousins Cecelia Palmer (Buddy) of Tupelo, and Marta Brookhart (Larry) of Oxford and special caregiver, Pat Fergurson. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Opal King; two brothers, William Henry Bailey and Trennon Bailey . Pallbearers will be Buddy Palmer, Larry Brookhart, Danny Caldwell, David Cole, Danny Brown, and Gary Merritt. Dan K. Johnson, David Mills and Tom Daniel will serve as honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be 9 - 11 a.m. Tuesday at W. E. Pegues, Tupelo. Memorials may be made to Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund. 1650 North Veterans Memorial Blvd. Tupelo, MS 38804
