IUKA " Sue Scott, 74, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka after a sudden illness. She was born March 6, 1933, in Saltillo to the late Davis C. and Esther Whitaker Payne. She was a longtime resident of Danville, Ill., before moving back to Saltillo. Because of her love of camping, she lived the last three years at J. P. Coleman State Park in Iuka. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Church of Christ in Iuka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Ricky Fields officiating. Burial will be in the Saltillo Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Hubert Scott; two daughters, Debbie Dunbar (Joe) and Diane McBee (Barry Claypool), both of Illinois; one son, Hubert Butch Scott (Rhonda) of Indiana; one brother, Charles Payne (Jean) of Plantersville; 10 grandchildren, Gidget (Randy), Jason (Laura), Kristin (Nick), Ashley, Hope, Terri, Karla (Rob), Nichole (John), Sam, and Joe.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Wilson, James and Charles Payne; two sisters, Wilma and Kathryn; and her in-laws, Harse and Doris Scott.
Pallbearers will be Mike Scott, Ricky Scott, Mark Scott, Matt Scott, David Payne and Todd Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers will be Waylon Phyfier, Billy Crabb, Larry Steen and Tim Bievens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Saltillo Chapel.
