Sue O'Neal

Tupelo - Sue (Suzy) O'Neal, 65, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, at her brothers residence after an extended illness. She was born May 15, 1943 in Santa Barbara, California to Carl and Dorothy Alice Finster O'Neal. She lived most of her life in Tupelo and worked at Aircap in the office for many years. She was the Director of the Tupelo-Lee Humane Society for a number of years and later worked at Weatherall Printing and did week-end obituaries for the Daily Journal for years. After retiring from Weatheralls, she continued to devote her energy and time to her passions. She was an early member of the Community Theater and also the co-founder of Spay, Inc and currently served as secretary/fundraiser. She loved animals and dedicated her life to animal welfare.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Dr. Melvin Lewis officiating.

Survivors include her brother, Pat ONeal and wife, Narda, of Tupelo; one niece, Robbin Buchanan and children, Halie and Jack, of Amory; one uncle, Bill Finster and wife, Esther, of Grass Valley, California; one aunt, Frances West and husband, Herman, of Tupelo and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be 12 - 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at the funeral home.
