Sue Montgomery

SUE MONTGOMERY Tupelo - Sue Montgomery, 79, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, October 4, 2014, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born in Van Buren Peaceful Valley Community on July 17, 1935, to James William and Jewel Vashti Sandlin Green. On July 20, 1963, Sue married the love of her life, Jerold Montgomery in Amory. For twenty years she worked for the Bank of Mississippi, ending her career as Branch Manager at the East Heights location. She also was co-founder of Auto-Cool, Inc. Sue loved to travel with friends, spend time with family and with her fun loving personality, she never met a stranger. She always had a sweet smile and spoke words of kindness. Sue was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. As our guardian angel, we will all feel her presence as Sue watches over us. Services celebrating her life will be 11 a.m., Monday, October 6, 2014, at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Don McCain and Rev. Glyn Wiygul officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 51 years, Jerold Montgomery of Tupelo; two children, Russ Montgomery (Pam) of Booneville and Missy Jackson (David) of Brandon; two brothers, Winford Green (Willard) of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Barry Green (Kathy) of Fulton; one sister, Martha Wiygul (Rev. Glyn) of Fulton; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Sue is preceded in death by her parents, James and Vashti Green of Fulton. Memorials may be made to St. Mark United Methodist Church, 307 Elvis Presley Dr, Tupelo, MS 38804. Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Monday, October 6, 2014 at the church.
