Tupelo - Rubye Sue Anglin, 92, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A Lee County native, she was born February 13, 1918, to George Washington and Clara Christian Jones Easterling. She graduated from Sherman High School and then attended Grenada College, Delta State University and Mississippi State University where she graduated with a degree in education. She taught high school math in Verona and Tupelo, as well as all over the country and overseas while her husband served in the Air Force. She was the widow of Lt. Col. Bill Anglin who died December 24, 2007. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Andy Ray and Rev. Jimmy Criddle officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her two sisters, Lavenia Moore and Marguerite Martin, both of Tupelo, her niece, Debbie McGehee of Belden; her nephews, Bob Moore of Colleyville, Tex., Jim Moore of Southlake, Tex., and Reese Martin of Smyrna, Ga.; one brother-in-law, Harvey Anglin of Tupelo; and one sister-in-law, Patricia Stanford of Saltillo.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, her husband Lt. Col. Bill Anglin; and one brother, Leo Easterling.
Pallbearers will be Bob Moore, Jim Moore, Reese Martin, Curtis McGehee, Richard McGehee, and Paul Anglin.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
