Stuart Land

Tupelo " Stuart Land, 91, died Sunday, November 16, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born November 25, 1916 in Beaumont, Texas to Amos and Mary Cooper Land. He married his wife of 66 years, Mary Land on May 2, 1942 in Pecos, Texas while serving in the Army Air Corp. He graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in business. He lived most of his adult life in the Houston, Texas area where he worked in banking as a consultant for mergers and acquisitions. Family and Jesus Christ were of most importance in his life.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Land of Tupelo; one daughter, Betty Flynn and husband, Pat, of St. Petersburg, Florida; one son, Don Land and wife, Judy, of Belden and formerly of New Albany; two granddaughters, Jessica Mathis and husband, Philip, of Tupelo and Stephanie Land of Belden; four grandsons, Stephen Flynn of Denver, Co, Nathan Flynn and wife, Angie, of Denver, Co, Braden Land and wife, Heather, of Nashville, TN and Aaron Flynn of Los Angeles, CA; three great grandchildren and one daughter-in-law, Kathy Land of Shattuck, OK.

He was preceded in death by one son, Gene Land; his parents and three brothers.
