STEPHEN D. WILSON
Tupelo - Stephen D. Wilson, 67, died Monday, September 11, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center. A Tupelo native, he was born January 12, 1939 to the late William Barnes and Sara Greaves Wilson. A graduate of Tupelo High School, he then went on to University of Mississippi where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. Prior to declining health, he worked in sales in the furniture industry. He enjoyed football, playing golf and was an avid Ole Miss sports fan. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Services will be 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister Jerry Grammer and Dr. Tom Groome officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his daughter, Stephanie Wilson of Huntsville, Ala; one sister, Sara (Sabo) Walker of Tupelo; one niece, Elise Jones of Tupelo; four nephews, Julian Wilson of Cordova, Tenn., Dr. Bedford Walker of Magnolia Springs, Ala., Brooks Wilson Walker of Plantersville, and Randal Wilson of Memphis, Tenn; seven great-nephews and three great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Julian Greaves Wilson and William Barnes Wilson Jr.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Kirk, Guy Jenkins, Bill Reeder, Ron Rollins, Brooks Walker, and Dr. Bedford Walker.
