Stanley Russell
TUPELO - Paul Stanley Russell, 74, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2007 , at the North Miss. Medical Center after a short illness. A Pontotoc native, he was born Jan. 13, 1933, to the late William Herman and Eula Ball Russell. He had lived in Tupelo for the past 47 years and was retired fro m Futorian Manufacturing in Okolona. He was a one hundred percent disabled veteran, having served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved spending time with his grandsons and sharing conversations with his coffee drinking buddies at Hardee's. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. David Langerfield officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Sid Russell and wife, Sandy, of Pontotoc; three stepdaughters, Cindy Wood, Wendy Allen and Jackie Smith and husband, Allen, all of New Albany; three grandsons, Colin Russell and Jacob Russell, both of Pontotoc, and Eddie Smith of New Albany.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bettye Russell, on Jan. 15, 2006; and a sister, Annie Ball Gill.
Pallbearers will be Louidean Ball, Benny Martin, Smith Heavener, Tony Mason, Paul Savely and Calvin Robertson. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Savely, Roger Cruse and Bobby Taylor.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Tuesday.
