Sidney Poindexter

Saltillo - SIDNEY E. POINDEXTER, 77, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after a short illness. A Henning TN native, he was born March 24, 1931 to the late Sidney Earl and Ila May Poindexter. A graduate of Memphis State University he graduated with a degree in History. He was a United States Army veteran and was a Quality Control Manager with the The Army Airforce Exchange Service for 26 years. Memorial services were held Monday, April 14, 2008, at the family residence at 103 Deer Creek, Saltillo, Mississippi. All friends are welcomed to attend. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Faye Poindexter of Saltillo; two daughters, Laura Lard of Saltillo and Kathy Page of Tupelo; one son, Jim Poindexter of Frisco, TX; two sisters, Anne Hunter (Jim) of Memphis, TN and Sue Schwendimann of Hohenwald, TN; one niece, Pam Hunter of Memphis, TN; five grandchildren, Angela Tharp, Cody Lard, Jennifer Page, Kyle Poindexter and Bailey Poindexter; one great grandchild, Zoie Tharp. He was preceded in death by his parents.
