TUPELOShirley Ann McCarthy Schuh, 67, died Wednesday, December 20, 2005, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born January 17, 1938 to the late James Maury and Ozelle Minor McCarthy in Baldwyn. She was raised in the Pratts community and graduated from Baldwyn High School. As a graduate of North East Mississippi Junior College, she was a member of the first class in the nursing program there and was also a cheerleader. Mrs. Schuh was affiliated with the Christian church. She spent many years involved in the PTO at Thomas Street School, serving in every capacity possible. For over 25 years, she enjoyed playing "Mrs. Clause each Christmas for the children of Thomas Street Elementary. She enjoyed visiting with friends and sharing family stories.

Services will be Thursday at 3 pm at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues, with Minister Charles Tharp officiating. Burial will be at the Baldwyn Masonic Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Ed Schuh; 2 sons, Maury Schuh, and wife, Susan of Tupelo; and Mark Schuh and wife, Kristin, of Saltillo; one brother, Larry McCarthy and wife, Peggy, of Pratts; two grandchildren, Louis and Elizabeth Schuh, of Tupelo.

Pallbearers are Matt McCarthy, Michael McCarthy, Louis Schuh, Jim Beachum, Allen Welford, and Terry Adkins.

Honorary Pallbearers are Adrian Thompson and Earnest Potter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and one son, Edward Matthew Schuh.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
