Tupelo - Shirley Jean Putt Kelly, 73, died Friday, September 28, 2012, at her residence. She was a faithful Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family. She was born September 21, 1939 to George and Mary Putt in Lee County. She was a 1958 graduate of Saltillo High School. She was the wife of Steve A. Kelly for fifty-four years. She retired from ELJER Plumbing where she worked for over thirty years. She was a charter member of the East Main Church of Christ.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2012 at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Gary Williams, Bro. Matthew Benfield and Bro. Adam Miller officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery of Saltillo.
Survivors include her husband Steve A. Kelly of Tupelo; two sons, Dale Kelly of Booneville and Jason Kelly (Rhonda) of Mantachie; one daughter Kristy Brasfield (Dewayne) of Saltillo; three grandsons, Dylan, Josh and Clint Kelly; three granddaughters, Megan Berry (Chris), Faith and Katie Brasfield; two great-grandchildren, Landon and Haylie Trenary; one sister, Mary Edith Sandlin of Saltillo; beloved caregiver Lavern Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Marie Hedge; two brothers, George and Danny Putt.
Pallbearers will be Dylan, Josh and Clint Kelly, Terry and Woody Turner and Bradley Bond.
Honorary pallbearers will be Grady McCaskill, Marlon Geno, Dewayne Brasfield, Lloyd Waggoner, Pete Barber and the Elders and Deacons of the East Main Church of Christ.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the funeral home.
