Saltillo- Shirley Sue Duckworth, 79, died Thursday, September 1, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born May 31, 1943, to Doc Gahagen and Tressa Hisaw Gahagen in Booneville. Shirley was a member of Greater Vision Ministries Church. She enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, cooking, gardening, summers at the lake, and taking care of animals. Shirley had a vibrant personality and never met a stranger and loved her family.

Shirley was survived by her three children, Sherry Faulkner of Tupelo; Lisa Matthews (Terry Hall) of Baldwyn, and Terry Duckworth (Myra) of Saltillo; four grandchildren, Brandy Faulkner of Tupelo; Bill Bird (Cortney) of Saltillo, Cadence Armstrong of Belmont, and Brandon Davis (Cassie Dunaway) of Saltillo; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one great-great-grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Hanford Duckworth; grandson, Donny Faulkner; two brothers, James, JB, and Amos; two sisters, Margaret and Verann; and brother-in-law, Richard Faulkner.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Hodges Cemetery with Bro. Walter Prather officiating.

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Hall, Brandon Davis, Hunter Reed Carson, John Wayne Smith, and Bill Bird.
