Shelia Evelyn Boyd

Shelia Evelyn Boyd, age 74, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Baldwyn on April 12, 1949 to Willard Hutcheson and Jewell Collie Hutcheson. Shelia worked as an associate for Walmart until her retirement. She was also a licensed beautician. Shelia was a dedicated member of Belden Baptist Church for many years. She loved finding bargains at yard sales and attending Gaither concerts. Shelia was dearly loved by the family she took care of and cherished each moment spent with them. She was the widow of William Boyd and they enjoyed 26 years before his passing in 1996.

Shelia leaves behind her only child, Steve Boyd of Belden; her grandson, Sean-William Boyd; three sisters, Linda Godfrey and her husband, Clyde, of Verona, Barbara Mask of Belden, and Tammy Sudduth and her husband, Tim, of Chesterville; two brothers, Mike Hutcheson and wife, Nancy and Stan Hutcheson, all of Shannon; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Jewell Hutcheson; her husband, William, and a brother, Wayne Hutcheson.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time Sunday, November 19, 2023 at Pegues, Tupelo.
Services honoring Shelia’s memory will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Dr. Shane McGivney officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery near Shannon.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Godfrey, Bobby Mask, Gary Mask, Stone Hutcheson, Dallas Hutcheson, Trevor Sudduth, Robert Hutcheson, and Cody Clayton. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin Roberts, Rodney Roberts, Jimmy Weeks and Sammy Holder.
