SHARON GRIFFITH Tupelo - Sharon Platt Griffith, 74, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 14, 2014, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after an extended illness. Sharon was born in Carthage, Missouri, on October 26, 1939, to Herman and Lola Platt. She graduated from Jasper High School in 1957 and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. She moved to Tupelo in 1994 with her husband to be near family. Sharon accepted Christ as a young girl. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Senior Adult Sunday School Class. Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church in Tupelo with Dr. David Eldridge officiating. A private family graveside will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors will be in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband of twenty-seven years, John Griffith; son, James D. Frerer (Liria); two grandchildren, Chad Austin Frerer and Danielle Maria Frerer all of Tupelo; one sister, Dixie lee Asbell (Tom) of Carl Junction, Missouri; one brother, David Platt of Kansas City, Missouri and eight nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Harry C. Platt; one nephew, Eric Wagaman and one grandson, John Paul Frerer. Pallbearers will be Chad A. Frerer, Joshua Collins, Pat Trimboli, Brent Wagaman, Tom Asbell, Dwayne Griffith, Jeff Seal and Richard Wagoner. Visitation is scheduled from 2 - 3 p.m. prior to services Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church.
