SHARON J. BURLESON
Benton, Ark - SHARON J. BURLESON, 50, departed this life Monday, January 29, 2007, after a three year battle with cancer. Formerly of Tupelo, Mississippi, she was born February 7, 1956 to the late John and Sammie Burleson. She held a masters degree in special education and completed post-graduate work in behavioral sciences. She taught autistic children at the McDougal Center in Tupelo before moving to Arkansas in 1986 as a behavioral specialist at Timber Ridge Ranch Head Injury Rehabilitation Center in Benton, Arkansas. She served as Program Director for Northwest Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1991. She returned to Timber Ridge Ranch as the Program Director in 1994 and went on to become the Vice President of Operations and Regional Director for the Timber Ridge Ranch Neuro-restorative Services. She was a past member of Verona United Methodist Church where she played piano for many years. She was currently a member of First United Methodist Church of Benton, Ark. She was well-respected as a professional with a strong work ethic, high standards and commitment to those with whom she worked.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2007 at Verona United Methodist Church with Rev. Buddy Smith and Rev. Don Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Burleson and mother, Sammie Burleson. She leaves to cherish her memory a brother, John Burleson, of Benton, Ark.; his children, Crysta, Derek, Jared, and Audrey; her aunts Patsy Bass, Martha Miller, Mary Goff; her uncle, Joe Young and their famlies; and dear friends, Janet Ross, Mary Lewis, Jean Middleton, Ginny Hawkins, Ginger Allinson, Jane Willis, Paula Harris Lex Fry, and many other loved friends and co-workers
Pallbearers will be Larry Bass, Bobby Joe Young, Scott Martin, Guy Weeks, Ben Parker, Lee Miller, Bill Collins, Jeff Goff, and Ken McVay.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
