Sgt Billie D. Kennedy

Saltillo Sgt. Major Billie David Kennedy, 75, died Thursday, May 13, 2010, at his residence. A native of Amory, he was born April 1, 1935, to Arthur and Nora Lee Wiggington Kennedy. He was retired from AT&T after 35 years of service. A decorated veteran, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp and also was retired from the U.S. Army and the Missisippi National Guard. He was a history buff and loved sharing his vast knowledge with family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 - 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home on Jefferson Street. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Dolores "Dolly" Kennedy of Saltillo; his son, Mark Kennedy of Nashville; his sister, Jeanne Quirello of Hialeah, Fla..extended family, Brent and Monica Morse and their children, Cole and Anna Lauren of Saltillo and Eileen Grenier of Saltillo.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Kennedy; brothers, Dudley Kennedy, Robert Kennedy, J.D. Kennedy; his step-sister, Exie Hormell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
