Tupelo - Sebelle Thomas, 90, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born in Alabama February 5, 1918, to Frank and Louise Jamar Stegall. She was a resident of Pickwick, Tenn. the past several years. She worked many years as a bookkeeper for Clyde Howell Construction. She was a member of Pickwick United Methodist Church and a life-long member of the Republican Party.
Memorial Services will be Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Pickwick United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Haley officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Ralph W. Thomas Sr. of Pickwick; two sons, Ralph W. Thomas Jr. of Pickwick and Frank D. Thomas Sr. and wife, Patricia of Arlington, TN; seven grandchildren, Christopher M. Thomas and wife, Kristi, Donna M. Thomas and Scott D. Thomas, all of Memphis, Melanie D. Thomas of Knoxville, TN, Frank D. Thomas Jr., Kathryn D. Thomas and Kimberly E. Miller and husband, Ryan, all of Arlington; five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Ruby Stegall, who died as an infant, and Frances Beard, who died two days before Sebelle.
