TUPELO - Sarah "Jo" Tackett, 65, died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at her residence after a sudden illness. She had been a secretary for Pepsi-Cola. She was a Baptist. She loved reading and shopping.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Doug Jones and the Rev. Anthony Hatch officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Debbie Burt and husband, Kelly, of the Ballardsville community; one sister, Dale Stegall and husband, Pat, of Pontotoc; one brother, Ray Monaghan and wife, Darinda, of Tupelo; her stepfather, George "Pop" Jones of Eastman, Ga.; three grandchildren, Denise Jones and husband, David, of Dorsey, Nicole Burt and Kayla Burt of the Ballardsville community; two great-grandchildren, Deidra Jones and Trinity Burt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. "Red" Monaghan and Mildred Blaylock Jones.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Stegall, Bryan Arnold, Trevor Seawright, Carter Seawright, Jonathan Seawright and James Hamblin.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
