Tupelo - Sandy Taylor Balty, 65, died Friday, December 3, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born January 14, 1945 in Tupelo to Lowell Putch Taylor and Sue Lollar Taylor. She was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2010 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Derek Jones officiating. Burial will be in Mantachie Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 21 years, Jack Balty of Tupelo; one daughter, Christi Houston of Sherman; one son, Jay Carter (Cheryl) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Alexis Leigh Nash, Thomas Blake Houston and Cooper Ward Carter; four step-grandchildren children, Christa Balty, Travis Balty, Ty Balty and Jevin Balty; three step-children, Arden Balty (Debra), Leslie Balty (Lisa) and Lyndel Balty (Debbie).
She was preceded in death by her father Lowell "Putch" Taylor in 1999; her mother, Sue Lollar Taylor in 2010.
Pallbearers will be Blake Houston, Mike Lollar, Mark Nabers, Scott Clark, Bill Clark and Larry Ward.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cooper Carter, Gene Taylor, Virgil Karnatz, Billy Wright, Jimmy Comer and Steve Taylor.
Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. Monday, December 6, 2010 at the funeral home.
