Tupelo - Sandra Kay Richey, 69, went to be with her Lord and Savior, leaving her earthly body to receive her heavenly one, Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center. Daughter of Levi and Fleta Gamble Alred, she was born December 14, 1947 in Tupelo. Sandra worked at Shockley's, Morrison's and Super Bingo, and she was a waitress at T.K.E.'s for 21 years. Sandra was very devoted to her family and a talented cook. She loved God and was a member of First United Pentecostal Church, PBI. Sandra was a wonderful, loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jerry Richey of Tupelo; son, Randy Richey of Tupelo; daughter, Renae Dunlap (Ronnie) of Pontotoc; grandchildren, Jessica Rodgers of Saltillo and Kayla Hand of Mooreville; great-grandchildren, Sadie Rodgers, Dalson Rodgers, Sarah Mulligan, Jonathan Mulligan and River Rodgers; brother, Elvis Alred of Texarkana, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Sue Richey Lindsey (Charlie McCollum) of Tupelo; brothers-in-law, Hoyt Richey (Johnnie) and Doug Richey (Ruby) and cousins, Linda Bob Roberts (Rickey) of Eggville, Marty Harlow of Shannon and Steve Tucker of Tupelo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Sydney Alred; brother-in-law, Bobby W. Richey (Evon); infant great-grandson, Waylon Ottis Reich; father and mother-in-law, Houston and Mary Alice Richey and grandparents, Roxie and Luther Gamble.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until service time. Private family graveside services will be in Verona City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Scottie Richey, Brad Richey, Jake Herring, Ricky Roberts, Danny Arnold and Donald Wayne Scott.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ronnie Richey, Dylan Richey, Vince Richey and Kevin Richey.
