Sandra McGuire

Sandra Sue McGuire, age 68, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2015, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation in Tupelo, Mississippi after battling a long-standing illness. She was born on October 15, 1946 to Warren Daugherty and Clara Eileen Butler in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She resided in Tupelo, Mississippi for approximately 55 years where she was employed as an insurance agent/educator and childcare provider at First United Methodist Church in Tupelo, where she also attended church. She is preceded in death by her mother and father; aunt Louise Moreland; uncle C.T. Moreland; uncle Carlos Gaskin; and former husband, James McGuire, who she was married to for approximately 10 years. She is survived by her children, Angela Jones (Kevin), Michael McGuire (Lillian); stepsons, Kevin & Daryll McGuire; grandchildren, Ethan, Avery, and Dylan; aunt, Ora Mae Gaskin of Marietta, Georgia; cousin, Carla Mae Bradley of Marietta, Georgia; and a host of cousins. Sandra had a love for God, her family, and her friends. More than anything, she loved being a mother and a grandmother. Her witty sense of humor, compassion, understanding, and loyalty will be missed by many. She is deeply loved and appreciated by her friends and family. A memorial service will be held to recognize Sandra on June 16, 2015 (Tuesday) at 2pm at First United Methodist Church in Tupelo, Mississippi with a visitation to follow.
