Sandra Matkin

SANDRA MATKIN Plantersville - Sandra Marie Matkin, 51, passed away at her home in Plantersville on Tuesday, April 21, 2015. She was born on September 23, 1963, in Springfield, Illinois, to James "Slim" and Sammie Marie Oglesby. She attended Nettleton Schools and lived in Lee County for most of her life. Sandra married Roger Dale Matkin on September 24, 1981. They lived in Plantersville for many years where they raised their four children. She was an animal lover and a doting Mamaw to her four grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Roger Matkin of Plantersville; four children, James Matkin, David Matkin, Sonya Vail (Robert) and Tommy Matkin, all of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Jacob Matkin, Xoe Williams, Prudence Vail, and Jude Vail; three brothers, Jimmy Oglesby, Mark Oglesby and Mitchell Oglesby; two sisters, Sindy Vance (Rick) and Teresa Edwards; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Terry Oglesby. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, April 24 at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Rest Cemetery in Etta.
