SAMUEL FELIX HENDERSON



Samuel Felix Henderson, 90, died Saturday, Dec.8, 2012 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Dec. 31, 1921 to Isaac Perry Henderson and Lucy Wynona Richardson Henderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a Technical Sergeant in the 726th combat infantry during World War II. He was twice wounded and earned two purple hearts.



He retired from Billups Western Petroleum Co. after 35 years, and later worked for Richey Manufacturing. He was a Christian. He enjoyed his vegetable garden, reading his Bible, generously giving to his family, friends, and neighbors and he loved his pet cats. He was fondly called "Red" by everyone.



He is survived by his wife, Joyce Henderson, two daughters, Ann Fullilove (Ken) of Houston, MS and Jane Riley, four grandchildren, Nick Moreland, and Donnie, Sam, and Heather Henderson and great grandson Trey Matthew Riley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Donald Lee Henderson, his grandson Matthew Kyle Riley, his brother, Isaac, and his sister, Eleanor.
