SAMMEY E. HALL

Plantersville - Sammey E. Hall, 78, died Sunday, November 5, 2006, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a sudden illness. An Itawamba Co. native, he was born May 12, 1928 to the late Wiley Alford and Phillippa Sargeant Hall. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired truck driver. He enjoyed playing domines, shooting pool, and yard work.

Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Beth Thomason officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bettye Mae Stanford Hall of Plantersville; two daughters, Kathy Hull, and husband, Dennis, of Boone, N.C., and Phyllis D. Leonard and husband, Dick, of Madison; one son, Barry E. Hall, Sr., of Tupelo; two sisters, Bobbie Rachel Farris of Belden, and Sandra Gayle Jones of Opelika, Ala.; four grandchildren, Terri E. Hall and husband, Elmer, Barry E. "Buddy" Hall, Angela K. Mitchell and husband, Chris, and Richard Y. "Trey" Leonard, III; three great-grandchildren, Corrina, Colby and Cason Hall; and spceial friend, Diane McKissack

He was preceded in death by his father, Wiley Alford Hall, his mother, Phillippa Hall Howell, and two brothers, Jackie D. Hall and Tony Hall.

Pallbearers will be her nephews, Freddy Ray Stanford, David Stanford, Robbie Hall, Michael Hall, Justin Hall, and William Gregory Jones.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2006.
