SADIE CALDWELL
Tupelo - Sadie Caldwell died Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at her home after an extended illness. She was born in the Furrs Community in Pontotoc County and was a lifetime resident of Lee County. She worked for many years as a retail sales associate in Tupelo. An active member of West Jackson Street Baptist Church, she served as entertainment chairman for the Happy Hearts Club. She was also a member of the Young at Heart Club.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday in the Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Emily Bean and her husband, Anthany, of the Dorsey Community; one brother, Albert Lackey and his wife, Betty, of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Jennifer Bass and her husband, Jody, Margaret Bean, Stephen Morgan, Steffani Jenkins and her husband, David, and Michael Morgan; two great-grandsons, Austin and Dillon Jenkins; and 3 devoted caregivers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Addie Holcomb Lackey; two brothers, Alton and Toy Lackey; two husbands, Ted M. Earrey who died in 1960, and W. C. Caldwell who died in 1989; and a daughter, Dianne Morgan who died in 1994.
Pallbearers will be Smith Heavner, Buddy Davis, Charles Parker, Jamie Jetton, Frank Norman, and Ernest Gunter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
