Chesterville Community - RUTH ALINE MCDANIEL, 86, died Tuesday, November 6, 2007, at her daughters residence after a brief illness. She was born June 23, 1921, in the Long View Community to the late Robert and Florence Duke Kelly. She worked as a seamstress for Blue Bell Manufacturing for 44 years. She was the widow of David McDaniel who preceded her in death January 17, 1996. She enjoyed traveling with her family on special vacations, crocheting and quilting. In spite of her age, she remained quite active and loved spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Chesterville Baptist Church.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Wes Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Chesterville Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Bobby Johnson of the Chesterville Community; two grandchildren, Donald Johnson and wife, Michelle, and Angi Coggins and husband, Dennis, all of Chesterville; three great-grandchildren, Thomas Painter, Jessi Johnson, and Taylor Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 56 years, David McDaniel; five sisters, Velma Ward, Mary Turner, Ola Mae Campbell, Maudie Lillie Kelly, and Sallie Lou Kelly; and one brother Luther Lunsford Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Neal Turner, Nunan Crane, Gerald McDaniel, Doug Johnson, Hugh Hargett and Berton Bowden.
