RUTH KITCHENS

Tupelo - Evelyn Ruth Tabor Kitchens died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at St. Josephs Memorial Hospital in Burbank, California after a brief illness. She was born in Winston County to the late William Earl and Clara Watts Tabor. For over 30 years, she was the office manager for her husbands dental practice in Tupelo. She was an active member of the Good News Church and was known for her Christian dedication and helping and ministering to others. She also volunteered along with her husband at the Good Samaritan Clinic in Tupelo.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Good News Church with Rev. Cecil Pumphrey and Rev. Billy Funderburk officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Dr. William L. Kitchens of Tupelo; one daughter, Lauren Tabor Kitchens of Toluca Lake, California; four sisters, Doris Tabor Steed of Indianola, Mary Ann Tabor Sessions of Louisville, Betty Lou Tabor Burchfield of Richland, and Rebecca Tabor Dorroh of Memphis; one brother, Larry Tabor of Starkville; and 26 nieces and nephews.

Two brothers, William Tabor, Jr., and Edward I. Tabor, preceded her in death.

Pallbearers will be Charles Brand, Gerald Carpenter, Charles Dorroh, Derek Dorroh, Bruce Kitchens, Ronald Kitchens, Jeremy Tabor, and William Tabor, III.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ebb Kitchens, Bob McCustion, Emmett Rogers, and Emmett Steed.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home on Jefferson Street.
