RUTH EVELYN DUVALL
Shannon - Ruth Evelyn Duvall, 58, died Wednesday, April 26, 2006, at Beverly Health Care after a brief illness. A Tupelo native, she was born November 17, 1947 to the late Franklin Jefferson and Clara McKnight Polk. A graduate of Tupelo High School, she then went on to Itawamba Community College. Along with her mother, she was well known for baking cakes and pies for the public for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she worked with the children earlier and was active in her Sunday School class.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Bro. Glen Reeder officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include one son, Michael Shann Duvall and wife,Melissa, of Shannon; a brother, Harold Polk, of Florida; two sisters-in-law Marie Polk, of Louisiana and Jewel Duvall of Tupelo; a brother-in-law, Ivy Duvall and wife, Strattie, of Tupelo; serveral cousins, nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mary Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Donald Duvall, Buddy Duvall, and Marvin Harwood.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
