RUTH BOUDREAUX
Tupelo - Ruth Boudreaux, 88, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo after a long illness. A native of Lee County, she was born Jan. 26, 1918, to the late Craig and Venia Deason Poteet. She was widowed.
She moved to New Orleans, La., in 1941, where she worked as a manager at Swaggman Brothers Supermarket. She returned to Tupelo in 1976. She was a Baptist and a member of the Lapace Baptist Church, where she attended regularly. She enjoyed reading her Bible daily, crocheting, and the beauty of flowers and plants.
During her stay at Sanctuary Hospice House, she was surrounded by her excellent nurses, caregivers and many friends.
A stateroom service will be at 2 p.m. today at W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors on Jefferson Street in Tupelo. The Rev. Randy Gillespie will officiate. Burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include one daughter, Dot Beasley, and her husband, Bobby, of Tupelo; four grandchildren, Andy and Brenda Allnet of Lapace, La., Cindy Allnet of Shannon, Randy and Alise Allnet of Metairie, La., and Debbie and Martin Sneed of Baldwyn; seven great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Betty Allnet Mitchell; and four sisters and three brothers.
Pallbearers will be Roger Elmore, Phillip Poteet, Don Hester, Chris Coward, Terry Beasley and Laramie Ethridge.
