Russell P. Board, Jr.

January 15, 1943 — October 2, 2010

Saltillo - Russell P. Board, Jr., 67, died Saturday, October 2, 2010, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. A native of Nitro, W.V., he was born January 15, 1943 to Russell Paul and Sarah Jannette Casebolt Board. He was a graduate of The University of Charleston and served in U.S. Army in Vietnam as a medic from 1968-69. He was employed by FMC in West Virginia and transferred to Atlanta and then Tupelo. After several years in Tupelo, he was transferred to outside sales serving Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, and Arkansas. At the age of 55, he retired and began traveling with his wife, Ann. Russell married his best friend and love of his life, Ann Page Board on September 13, 1997. They enjoyed cooking out and spending time with children, grandchildren, and family. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church.

Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park

Survivors include his wife of 13 years, Ann Page Board of Saltillo; his mother, Jannette Board of Saltillo; an uncle, Barney Casebolt of Nitro W.V.; an aunt, Ann Case bolt of Nitro, W.V.; his step-children, Jeff Spencer of Saltillo and Paige Repult (John) of Saltillo; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Spencer of Tupelo; four step-grandchildren, Sawyer and Sadler Spencer of Tupelo, Cosby and McCarthy Ann Repult of Saltillo; a sister-in-law, Jane Clegg (Jim) of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a brother-in-law, Ed Page (Betty) of Tupelo whom he referred to as his best buddy; his mother-in-law, Jeanette Page of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell P. Board and his father-in-law, Herman Page.

Pallbearers will be Mike Golebiewski, John Spence, Kenny Ward, Herb Wells, Mark Vernon, and Wayne Pinkerton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David May, Rodney Rice, Dave Klyce.

Visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
