Ruby Webb

Saltillo Ruby Morris Webb, 95, died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at her residence on Fellowship Road. She was born October 24, 1915, in the Auburn Community to James Hilliard and Mettie Morgan Morris. After her fathers death at an early age, she and her young siblings helped her mother plow and raise cotton and corn. She then graduated from Plantersville High School in 1934. Her first job was with Reed Manufacturing. She taught Sunday School at Oak Hill United Methodist for several years.
After the death of her first husband, Clealon Jones at the Battle of the Bulge during World War II, she married Denton Webb of Saltillo in 1946. With the proceeds from the sale of a cow, together they began a watch repair and jewelry business in 1953. Their business grew and became a successful enterprise in Saltillo for many years. She also served as Secretary of Trace System for over 20 years.
A private graveside service will be Wednesday at Fellowship Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors in Saltillo is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Ford of Chesterville, two sons, Dan Webb (Rachael) of Saltillo, and Steve Webb of Yucaipa, Calif; six grandchildren, Dana Dutcher (Dutch), Monica Webb, Kimberly Conn, Jeffrey Webb (Jennifer), Taylor Webb, and Daniel Webb; seven great grandchildren, Dalton Capps, Madison Aycock, Jillian Dutcher, Mollie Margaret Conn, Maggie Conn, Mills Conn, and Benjamin Webb; two nephews, Jim and Michael Morris; two great nephews, Timothy, and Jason Ford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denton Webb, her first husband, Clealon Jones, her parents, and her brother, Truman Morris.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at W. E. Pegues in Saltillo
