Mooreville - Ruby Faye Taylor, 81, died Sunday, May 1, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice House. She was born in Lee County on January 27, 1930 to Riley and Hattie Lindsey Irvin. She was a long-time active member of Ballardsville Baptist Church. She read her Bible daily. She loved her family and her greatest pleasure was time spent with her daughter, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Thelbert Hill and Rev. Roger Franks officiating. Burial will be in Gilvo Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Kaye Estes (Jimmy) of Eggville; three grandchildren, Robin Puckett (Daniel) of Mooreville, Christy McCasland (James) of Ballardsville and Cindy Umfress (Chris) of Smithville; six great-grandchildren, Mary Puckett, Emily McCasland, Austin McCasland, Matthew Smith, Shelby Umfress, Peyton Umfress; one brother, Bobby Irvin (Jo Ellen) of Dorsey; two sisters, Delois Sheffield (Roddy) and Sue Gray (Jackie) both of Dorsey;; one daughter-in-law, Pat Taylor of Peppertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Bud" Taylor who died, April 26, 1998; her son, Gary Wade Taylor who died, March 11, 1989; her parents.
Pallbearers will be Blake Sheffield, Blair Sheffield, Kirk Sheffield, Kris Irvin, Matt Gray, Brandon Sheffield and Ricky Johnson.
Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at the funeral home.
