Ackerman Ruby Vance Smith, 77, died Sunday, January 16, 2011, at The North Mississippi Center after an extended illness. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She was retired registered nurse after 51 years of service.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church on Thursday, January 20, 2010. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, James Vance (Anne) of Choctaw, John Vance of Hernando, Alton Lee Vance (Dr. Stacy Vance) of Kenai, Alaska; one daughter, Julia Johnson of Columbus; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren.
