Roy Leander Carruth

ROY LEANDER CARRUTH Tupelo - Roy Leander Carruth, 74, passed away Thursday, August 22, 2013, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness. A Chesterville Community native, he was born August 30, 1938, to Horace Spencer and Leontine Heard Carruth. A graduate of Tupelo High School, he retired as a travel agent after many years of service. He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 25, 2013, in the Stateroom of W.E. Pegues with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. Burial will follow in Tupelo Memorial Park. Survivors include one sister, Margaret Short of the Chesterville Community; one niece, Kathy Most (Mike) of the Chesterville Community; one great-nephew, Spencer Most of the Chesterville Community;numerous cousins; special friend, Lane Scott of Tupelo. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother-in-law, Troy Short. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. till service time Sunday, August 25, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Chesterville (Lilly) Cemetery, 2556 Chesterville Road, Tupelo MS, 38801.
