Roy Brown
TUPELO - Roy Brown, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at the Sanctuary Hospice House after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Itawamba County and had lived in the Shady Acres community of Tupelo since 1961. He was a retired supervisor for Super Sag Manufacturing with 23 years of service. He was a member of Fawn Grove Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Fawn Grove Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Booker and the Rev. James V. Mills officiating. Burial will be in the Fawn Grove Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Izora Brown; two sons, Billy Brown of Shannon and Charles Brown and wife, Peggy, of Pontotoc; his twin brother, Troy Brown of Mantachie; three grandchildren, Cindy McGregor and husband, James, of Pontotoc, Bill Brown Jr. and Sonia Brown, both of Tupelo; five great-grandchildren, Collin McGregor, Jake McGregor, Kayla Upton, Kim Brown and Alex Newell; and one great-great-grandchild, Landon Upton.
Pallbearers will be James Brown, Wayne Brown, Jim Brown, Carl Brown, Russell Burcham and Jimmy Burcham. Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Fawn Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.
