Rose Wilson Fleming, 88, of Atlanta, and formerly of Tupelo and Okolona passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2023. A graduate of Ole Miss, Ms. Fleming was an educator who worked in several educational positions in Okolona and Tupelo. In the late 1970s, she relocated to Georgia and retired in 1999 as a high school media specialist from Douglas County Schools after serving for twenty years at Lithia Springs High School. Rose enjoyed photography and travel. She visited 48 states in the United States, Canada, the British Isles, the Scandinavian countries, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Greece, and Turkey. Each trip was an opportunity for Rose to photograph famous landmarks and flowers. In addition to her travel, Rose was an avid Elvis fan and often visited Graceland and collected Elvis memorabilia.
Rose is survived by her daughter, Lori Fleming of Okolona, Mississippi and her brother, Melvin Wilson and his wife, Dr. Pamela Graber of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 14, 2023 at Tupelo Memorial Park. Pegues Funeral Directors has been entrusted with the arrangements.
