Peaceful Valley - Ronald Lloyd Poplin, 72, passed away Monday, August 3rd, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice in Tupelo. He was born at Cabarras hospital in North Carolina to Lloyd Lenior Poplin and Kathleen Mae Wilkinson on September 8th, 1942. Ron served in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Captain. For almost forty years, he worked in quality assurance in the dairy business. He was an active member of the ELCA Lutheran Church all of his life. He served as a member of the church council, treasurer and worship leader. Visitation will be Saturday, August 8th, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Christ The King Lutheran Church, followed by a funeral service starting at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Ron Richardson officiating. Burial will be at Beeks Cemetery, Monroe County, Mississippi. Survived by his beloved wife of thirty-one years, Flora Elizabeth Smith Wilson Poplin; two daughters, Alisa Scofield-Mahoney (Anthony) and Rhonda Kay Poplin Henes White (Trey); two sons, Phillip Poplin Blake (Dee Dee) and Lee Pate Poplin (Laurie); nine grandchildren, William George Scofield, Mark Anthony Henes, PJ Blake, James Blake, Clayton Poplin Blake, Nathan Poplin, Brandon Poplin, Rosemarie Poplin, Annalise Poplin; one brother Robert Poplin (Joann); and a niece Lena Viramontes. He was preceded in death by both his parents and a brother, Stephen Robert Poplin.
