ROBIN COBB
Jacksonville, Fla. - Robin Elisabeth Ezelle Cobb, 47, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006, at Jacksonville Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, she was born May 3, 1959 to Mary Maxine Patey Ezelle and the late Donald Coleman Ezelle. A 1976 graduate of Tupelo High School, she later went on to The National University of San Diego, Cal. where she earned a degree in criminal justice in1997. She worked as a probation officer for San Bernadino County in California and later as administrator over the Lee County Juvenile Detention Center in Tupelo. Most recently, she had worked as an investigator for the Department of Children and Families for the state of Florida. She enjoyed sports, especially those involving her children. She was an avid reader and loved the beach and the outdoors. Her passion in life was children, her own as well as those she worked to protect.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2006 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Bert Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include three sons, Matthew Cobb, Steven and wife, Erika of Japan, and Chris Cobb and wife, Jessica, of Atlanta, Georgia; her mother, Mary Maxine Patey Ezelle, one sister, Amelia "Amy" Karin Bennett, and husband, Don, of Tupelo; two brothers, Don Allen Ezelle and wife, Jan, and Brian Coleman Ezelle and wife, Heather, all of Tupelo; the father of her children, James Cobb; a granddaughter, Haylee A. Cobb of Houston, Tex.; and special friend, Ray Barnes of Jacksonville, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Coleman Ezelle; one brother, Perry Thomas Ezelle.
Pallbearers will be representatives of the Lee County Sherrif's Department and Juvenile Detention Center.
Honorary pallbearers will be her employees at the Florida Department of Children and Families.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
