Roberta Garner Davis

ROBERTA DAVIS Tupelo - Roberta Brice Garner Davis, 89, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015, at the North Mississippi Medical Center of complications from a fall in her home. She was born in Lee County on January 20, 1926, to Lewis E. and Miley Petago Garner. Roberta worked for People's Bank and the IRS and was a member of the Church of Christ. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Minister, J. F. Dancer officiating. She will be interred in the Garner family plot at Spring Hill Cemetery. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Clinton B. Davis, Jr; one sister, Laverne Dearman of Tupelo; sister-in-law, Zane Davis of Oxford; six nieces, Dr. Jean Chittom Smith ( Bob H.) of Mooreville, Janice Chittom McKinney (Robert) of Fulton, Julia Dearman Wood (Ewing) of Dorsey, Janet Dearman Byrge (Jerry) of Helenwood, Tennessee, Linda Davis Knouff (David) of Camden, Tennessee, Alisa Davis (Tony) of Olive Branch; four nephews, Louie Dearman (Charlotte) of Tupelo, Terry Dearman (Karen) of Saltillo, Sam Davis of Hernando and Paul Davis (Kim) of Olive Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents; her father and mother-in-law, Clinton B. and Nola Davis; her brother, Clyde R. Garner; sisters, Opal Garner Chittom, Arvy L. Garner and Dois Garner Smith; one nephew, David O. Dearman; brothers-in-law, Aubrey H. Chittom, Glen O Dearman, Harold Davis and his wife Frances, Horace Davis and his wife Pearl, and Troy Davis and his wife Opal. Pallbearers will be Bob McKinney, Len B. Schaefer, III, William Louis Dearman, Terry Garner Dearman, Terry Garner Dearman, Jr., and Michael Ewing Wood. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at W. E.
