Robert Witt

VERONA " Robert Lee Witt, 51, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born in Tupelo to the late Hillary Dean Witt and Nancy Geneva Wilson Witt, but lived in Verona all his life. He was a Baptist. He loved his family and enjoyed being outdoors and doing yard work for his friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Danny Rushing officiating. Burial will be in Verona City Cemetery.

Survivors include one sister, Joyce Witt of Plantersville; one brother, Roy Witt (Linda) of Verona; two nieces, Peggy Witt of Booneville and Jamie Phillips (Shane) of Mantachie; one nephew, Jason Hill of Yazoo City; one great-niece, Georgia Ray Phillips of Mantachie; one great-nephew, Gage Hill of Yazoo City; a very special friend, Debbie Roberts of Verona.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Danny Ray Witt.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie McCraken, Shane Phillips, Butch Culver, Bubba Collier and Jr. Rutledge.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
