Robert Wester

Tupelo - Robert Wester, 84, died Friday, August 28, 2010, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Pontotoc native, he was born August 26, 1926 to Henry and Ella Mae Davis Wester. He served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946 in the South Pacific Theater. For 40 years he worked for Tupelo Water and Light Department. The first 20 years he worked as a lineman and the next 20 years as an electrical inspector. He loved his dogs Petty and Suzi. He loved watching football and was and avid Ole Miss fan. He was a member of Harrisburg Baptist Church where he attended the Sancatuary Sunday School Class.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Tupelo Memorial Park with Mr. Sammy Lansdell officiating. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Virgina Wester of Tupelo; one daughter, Peggy Harris of Tupelo; one grandson, Robby Harris (Cassie) of Pontotoc; two great-grandchildren, Eli and Cooper Harris; one sister Elizabeth Keith of Tupelo.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be 5- 8 p.m. Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the funeral home.
