Eggville - Robert Wayne Weaver, 84, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Courtyard Community Living Center in Fulton. He was born December 28, 1927 to Charles Melvin and Mae Williams Weaver. He was a long-time resident of the Eggville Community. He was a veteran of the United States Army Airforces and served during World War II. He worked for Kermit's Bakery for fourteen years and was a long-time employee of Super Sagless and Leggett & Platt. He retired from the Lee County road crew and later, because he was such a people person, returned to work for Lee County as the office manager of the Guntown shop and continued working there into his eighties. He attended Boguefala Baptist Church. He was an avid reader, loved baseball and enjoyed keeping up with community events and activities. A celebration of his life with military honors will be 2 p.m. Sunday, September 2, 2012 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with his son-in-law, Larry Betts officiating and a special time for family and friends to share stories of him. Burial will be in Eggville Cemetery. Survivors include one son, Truitt Wayne Weaver (Sandra) of the Eggville Community; one daughter, Tina Betts (Larry) of Tupelo; one grandson, Todd Wayne Weaver (Ashley) of Pontotoc; one great-grandson, Weston Wayne Weaver; two step-great-grandchildren, Chad Kilgo of Saltillo and Shea Lawson of Nettleton; his foster grandson, Craig Robinson (Teri) of Brownsville, Tenn. and their sons, Grayson, Jackson, and Eason; two foster granddaughters, Denise Randleman(David) and their children, Daniel, Seth, and Carrie of Lexington, N.C. and Becky Robinson; six sisters, Mary Jo Herring of Tupelo, Charlene Kuykendall (Robert) of Amory, Ann Lettieri of Verona, Nita Tucker of Baldwyn, Sandra Simmons (James) of Tupelo and Jan Gough of Pensicola, Florida; two brothers, Charles "Chuck" Weaver (Martha) of Jacksonville, Florida and John Douglas Weaver (Linda) of Nettleton; a slew of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardania Bishop Weaver; his parents; three sisters, Donna Jane Weaver, Nell Faulkner and Sue Ragan; two brothers, Doyle and Billy Weaver. Pallbearers will be Art "Buddy" Loyd, Phil Morgan, Andy Gregory, Earl Price, Sam Herring and John Lettieri. Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the funeral home.
