Pontotoc - Robert Ernest"Ernie" Sullins, 71, died Monday, August 16, 2010, at The Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. He was born in Tupelo October 12, 1938, to Lee Roy and Ester Spencer Sullins. He worked as an industrial painter for many years. A longtime resident of Pontotoc, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was a member of Valley Grove Baptist Church where he attended until his health failed.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Joe Herndon and Rev. Steve Cohea officiating. Burial will be in Priceville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Dale Sullins of Pontotoc; two children, Debbie Ross (Aaron) of Pontotoc and Jeff Sullins (Pam) of Tupelo; three grandchildren, Tiffany Bellach (Matt) of Kansas City, Mo., Robert Sullins of Tupelo and Jordan Ross of Pontotoc; one great-granddaughter, Kaelyn Marie Bellach; one sister, Clarice Henderson of Chesterville; and one brother, Ellis Sullins of Holly Springs; numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; special friends, Dell Keith and Jimmy Christian

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Sullins.
Pallbearers will be Dell Keith, Robin Haire, Robert Hall, Bret Holt, Tyler Holt, and Matt Gray.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at the funeral home.
