BOBBY CLOYD
Tupelo " Robert Elmo Bobby Cloyd, 82, died Friday, November 30, 2007, at The North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Tupelo native, he was born December 13, 1924 to the late Robert Marion and Hattie Virginia Butler Cloyd. He was a retired home builder. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and until declining health, always had a truck patch in the Tupelo area. He was a member Emanuel Baptist Church.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 2, 2007 at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Mark McMillen officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park. W. E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Cleo Cloyd of Tupelo; one son, Elmo Cloyd, Jr. of Tupelo; two sisters, Annie Presley of Verona, and Alice Trumper of South Mississippi; one brother, Tommy Cloyd of Maryland; his grandchildren, Leigh Hickman and her husband, Brian, of Columbus, and Teresa Roper and her husband, Grant, of Plantersville; three great grandchildren, Sarah and Savannah Roper of Plantersville, and Abigail Hickman of Columbus; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parnets, and a daughter, Catherine Gentry who died August 27, 1995.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hickman, Grant Roper, Jeff Johnson, James Roy Parmer, Jeff Parmer, Austin Parmer, Ricky Parmer, and Mike Parmer.
