Rita Kabban

Lake PiomingoRita Kabban, 48, died at her residence in the Lake Piomingo Community. She was born October 18, 1961, in Tripoli, Libya to Bashir Salim Kabban and Shirley Geneva Kabban. She graduated from the University of Mississippi with a degree in mathematics. A lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, she served for three years, stationed in Sunnyvale, Calif. She worked on military projects for the space technology program. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with Rev. Russell Clouse officiating. Burial will be in Belden Cemetery.
Survivors include her parents, Shirley and Bashir Kabban of Tupelo; one sister, Tina Kabban McDaniels of Tupelo; two brothers, Emil Kabban (Melanie) of Stafford, Va. and Reggie Kabban (Christine) of Dayton, Ohio; five nieces, Dara Kabban, Kaitlyn Kabban, Emily Kabban, Laura Kabban, and Katie Zeller; three nephews, Chris McDaniels, Michael McDaniels, and Aaron Kabban; one aunt, Louise Thompson; one uncle, James Thompson and many cousins.
Pallbearers will be Wesley Wooldridge, Marshall Wooldridge, Daniel Wooldridge, Charles Fowler, Chad Daughtery, and Robert Daughtery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
